4. Contest Length & Prize

Contest Length Recommendations

A standard contest length is 7 days, and can be more or less depending on how quick you need your logo. We recommend only selecting a contest length of 10 or 14 days if you are able to provide continual feedback and ranking updates to maintain designer interest. Also keep in mind that in a typical contest that many designers will not participate until the last few days.

Prize Recommendations

The higher the prize, the better the quality and variety of logos you will receive:

Minimum: $250 typically attracts 30-35 entries from very good designers Medium: $300-$500 typically attracts 50-90 concepts from very good and exceptional designers High: $550 and above typically attracts 100-250+ concepts from very good, exceptional, and cream of the crop designers

Note: If you have a minimal budget you can get many more quality entries by increasing your participation in your contest. This is done by leaving feedback on every entry your receive, as well as updating your contest rankings 2-3 times per day.

Making this contest "guaranteed" means that you will deposit the full amount of prize with the administration of DesignContest.net and we will hold it for the winning designer. We strongly believe that guaranteeing a contest will show your engagement into the project and will encourage the designers to provide higher quality of work.

We understand that some people may feel uncomfortable depositing the prize money before the project is finished. However by starting a contest on DesignContest.net you take legal responsability to pay the specified amount of prize in full to the winning designer. In case the administration receives any complains about a prize non paid or paid only in part we will take all possible measures to help the winning designer his payment.

Need to keep things Private?

Do you have a top secret company or client that you don't want others to know about? For a $50 fee your contest will only viewable to our registered design community. Our other clients, search engines, or the general public will not be able to see any of your contest information or entries anywhere on the site. The minimum prize for private contests is $500.
