James Allen, CPA
[ closed ]

Brief

Clean, simple and professional. Nothing complicated. The logo must include the words "James Allen, CPA" and may include the words "certified public accountant". Make sure to keep the word "accountant" singular, as I am only one accountant. Some websites to look at for ideas: www.deloitte.com www.pwc.com www.ey.com and www.protiviti.com .

Very well done. Your entry obviously pushes the theme to be more artistic, as opposed to the typical conservative feel of an accounting firm logo. I think it is absolutely beautiful as a work of art - I couldn't be more sincere. But for this contest, can you use a darker blue on "James Allen, CPA"? It appears that the graphic has a darker blue, maybe try that. I think that will add some masculinity to the concept. Thank you.

Very, very nice! And I especially like how you showed me the difference between the graphic on top and in front of the firm name. I was actually going to ask a couple of folks to do that with existing entries. The only change that I'd like to see is with the graphic on top version; please let me see what it looks like with the graphic about 20% small than it is. Thank you for this very nice submission.

The revisions were as requested, but I'm going to pass on this design. Obviously, the biggest difference in the entries I'v selected as "OK" is the graphic, and this one just didn't "wow" me. Although I know the second letter in the graphic is an "A", I think it could easily be mistaken for a "C". Also, my first impression was that this would be a great design for a performance auto part manufacturer, rather than a professional services firm. Still, I wanted to give it a chance with the revisions before I eliminated it. Thank you for submitting.

The revision is much closer to what I am looking for. I like the font for "James Allen, CPA". I would like to remove the lines in "certified public accountant" and increase the font size, similar to other entries. I do not like the glossy tone on the top graphic, and the color in the graphic doesn't seem to match the darker blue on the pallet. I prefer the darker blue with maybe a fade into the lighter blue I chose. The darker blue on the "JA" almost looks purple. At the end of the day, this is much more in line with what I am looking for. Thank you for the revisions.

IMPORTAMT: Contest ends noon this Thursday. If you have a new concept, it would be a good idea (but not necessary) to post it by Wednesday evening, in case revisions are required. Thanks again for all the great work.

No problem. But yes, I would like to see a revision. On "James Allen, CPA" try a font similar to some of the other entries marked "OK" - I've made some comments about fonts if you look through my posts. Also, increase the font size of "Certified Public Accountant" to what the other entries have. Very interest graphic, I can't wait to see what it looks like with revisions. Very nice!

Hi James,
Yes, you can use the shaded logos on your business cards and stationary. The flat versions would be more appropriate for something like embroidery (hats or t-shirts - but screen printing could still use the shading) or certain types of signage (for example, if you needed to use vinyl cutout lettering).

But, for your stationary, biz cards, website, etc, the full color versions would be perfect!

Question: some of the remaining entries use color shading. Can I use the version with the shading on business cards and stationary, or do I have to use the "flat colors" version? Thank you.

Hi James,
There is no brown in this design:) it could be if you wish but I suggest we should limit at 3 colors(light blue/dark blue and black)
please let me know if you wish to see the flag simbol with this version of the logo.
thanks,
robert

Important note: I am ending the contest this Thursday (have to speak to Sergey about the time. That means the initial 2 week contest has been shortened to 1 week. The reason is that I very, very happy with what I have seen so far. And, honestly, would be more than happy with any of the entries I've marked as "OK". Thank you!
